Join in the Jubilee celebrations

Here’s what’s happening in our area to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee:

Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre

Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre is hosting a free family fun day in celebration of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Saturday 4th June.
Between 11.00am and 3.00pm at the centre and adjoining field, there will be entertainment for all ages, lots of market stalls, refreshments and arts and crafts as well as a demo ring throughout the day.
Staff and volunteers will be dressed up and there will be prizes for the best dressed princess / prince / Queen.

Worksop Platinum Jubilee

Worksop Business Forum is organising the Worksop Town Centre Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June.
Between 10.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday in Market Square and High Street, you can enjoy a family fun day featuring free fair rides, crafts, entertainment from local community groups and a party DJ, food and drink stalls and a beer tent. From 4.00pm to 7.00pm the event will turn into a party on the square with the disco becoming karaoke. The bar will remain open until 7.00pm.
Sunday at 10.00am to 3.00pm will see the ‘Big Lunch’ with a Street party on Bridge Street. Tables, chairs, and blankets will be available for people to bring a picnic and enjoy entertainment provided by local groups.
Groups so far confirmed to take part include Worksop Charter Trustees, Worksop Air Cadets, Zebra Dance Studios, DJ Crystal and EMAS.

Jubilee Picnic in the Park

Take a picnic to the Parsonage Lawn at Clumber Park over the Platinum Jubilee weekend and join in with the festivities on 4th and 5th June.
The fun includes face painting by Nature’s Den Education on the Saturday and Sunday and then an extravaganza on the Sunday including music from Thoresby Colliery Brass Band, 50s Style, Jive Dancing by Spotlight Studios and jubilee-themed wild art with James Brunt. For timings for each activity see
Sunday 5th June also sees the Clumber Pudding Competition. The ballot will be open from 12.00pm to 12.45pm and the winner announced at 1.30pm. Take along your fanciest pudding and enter the competition, with a winner chosen by the Clumber Park judges. Then, enjoy your pudding with friends and family at our picnic in the park.
