At the most recent meeting, members were delighted to welcome a new member to the Inner Wheel Club of Retford, with District Chairman Joy Fox in attendance to conduct the induction. Joy’s chosen charities for the year are Nottingham Hospice and the Nightingale MacMillan Unit in Derby.
The club will be participating in the Star and Nativity Festival at Grove Street Chapel later this month and is also planning to decorate a Christmas tree for the St Swithun’s Christmas Tree Festival.

On Thursday 13th November, members look forward to hearing from a speaker representing Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, who will be accompanied by her dog. This is the charity recently supported by the club through sponsorship at the Rotary Swimathon. A coffee morning will take place on Wednesday 26th November in support of Orange the World Day. UN Women, the global organisation championing safe environments for women and girls, leads this campaign. Orange the World is one of the national Inner Wheel’s chosen charities this year, and attendees at the coffee morning are encouraged to wear something orange in recognition.

The club meets at Ye Olde Bell at 5.30pm for 6.00pm. Anyone interested in attending a meeting or learning more about Retford Inner Wheel is invited to email retfordiwc@gmail.com
