Several members of the Inner Wheel Club of Retford recently enjoyed a visit to a North Wheatley strawberry farm. The trip included a tractor ride with commentary, followed by a delicious strawberry cream tea. The outing also served as a fundraiser for the National Police Aid Charity (NPAC).
Inner Wheel was also pleased to support the Grove Street Chapel Flower Festival. This year’s theme was Around the World in 80 Days, and the club’s floral display celebrated The Emerald Isle. As well as looking beautiful, the arrangement acknowledged the Irish heritage of its designer.
The club recently welcomed Lesley Banks as a new member during what was President Judith’s final meeting in office. A group meeting is soon to be held at a member’s house to assemble baby bundles for the next NPAC container shipment to The Gambia – continuing the club’s tradition of practical support for global causes.
Monthly meetings take place at Ye Olde Bell on the second Thursday of each month, meeting at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start.
Anyone interested in joining the group is encouraged to get in touch for more details, by email to retfordiwc@gmail.com.
