Inner Wheel Club of Retford

Life is slowly moving back to the old normal and there is great hope that the Inner Wheel Club of Retford may be able to hold a face-to-face meeting in the second week of July.
Their Zoom meeting in May featured a talk by Heather, a volunteer from Muddy Fork. She was most interesting and gave insight to the great benefit to mental health that comes from being out of doors, in the fresh air, being close to wildlife, creating habitats and being involved in growing activities. The produce from Idle Valley is sold at the Welbeck Farm Shop and their hives, some donated by one of the club’s members, produce honey also sold there. Inner Wheel were delighted to be able to donate two picnic benches to Muddy Fork. They are very grateful to Phil Hempsell, of Timber Products, who runs a stall on Retford Market and who sold the club the benches at a bargain price. These were presented in May.
In June, Inner Wheel members attended a Craft Fair at Harworth and Bircotes Town Hall to raise money for their international charity fund, and a coffee morning for members and friends in support of the Breast Cancer Now charity.
July is the start of a new year for Inner Wheel. Retford’s president, Dot, has agreed to continue in her role in the hopes of having a more normal year where she can put some of her ideas into practice. The club look forward to the future where their work with fundraising and service can continue more freely and friendship can grow and flourish. If you have time on your hands, get in touch.
They meet (in usual circumstances) every second Thursday of the month, at 5.30pm for 6.00pm, at Ye Olde Bell Hotel, where they share a meal and conduct speaker / business meetings. If you think you might enjoy joining them please first email and then you will be made very welcome.
