Idle Valley Wildlife Watch Group

by | 7 July 2021 | Children's Group, Wildlife, Worksop

The Idle Valley Wildlife Watch Group is the junior branch of the local Wildlife Trust and offers exciting Saturday morning activity for children aged eight to 12. Joining a Watch Group is a great way for children to get out and enjoy nature in the fresh air, learn about wildlife and the issues affecting it and make new friends. They can win awards too.
Experienced Watch Group leaders organise fun activities for the children that help them discover and identify the local wildlife, engage with their environment and learn why it is so important.
Meetings will take place on the second Saturday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The next meeting will be on 10th July. Meet in the Idle Valley centre at 10.30am. The planned activity is a walk around Bellmoor Lake to hunt for natural jewels, those dazzlingly beautiful damselflies and dragonflies that hover over the water and delight us with flashes of sapphire and emerald as the sun catches them. Participants shall learn something about their life cycles and how to identify them too.
