Hope receives charity in time for Christmas

The Hope Community Services charity in Worksop helps those in need because of their social and economic circumstances, particularly the homeless and the socially excluded, by the provision of advice, assistance, guidance and access to education, health care and other services.
Two days before Christmas they received a £15,000 matched funding grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) and the local Province to refurbish a small flat, part of their ‘Move on with Hope’ housing project. This provides a supported link for homeless people, individuals and families often with young children, between hostel accommodation and permanent housing.
Additionally, Rachel Winters, Client Support Co-ordinator, received a surprise box of TLC teddies from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Nottinghamshire charity – Teddies for Loving Care Nottinghamshire, which has been generously funded by North Notts Rotary Lodge no.8998.
The bears were presented to Rachel by W Bro Roger Garrett, Chairman of the Provincial Charity Committee, in support of young children arriving at the centre often in a distressed state, having been made homeless.
Katie Chubb, Charity Development Officer, said: “I just wanted to extend my thanks again for delivering the TLC teddies, it’s very kind of you. Thank you also for all your support of our charity; it’s greatly appreciated and the grant means a huge amount to us.”
