Hope is 25 years old this year, 25 years of providing accommodation, 25 years’ worth of teas and coffee, 25 years of helping to support people that are in need, 25 years of helping people in crisis, people like Grace:
Grace was just 21 years old and 20 weeks pregnant when she arrived at Hope House. Pregnant and alone, she was in dire need of safe housing for herself and her new baby. Hope’s support workers provided her with a safe space to stay, emotional support, and housing advice. They worked together to help Grace apply for emergency accommodation with the council.
Grace is now living in her new home. At Hope, a third of the people they support are women.
in 2020-21, due to the isolation brought on throughout the coronavirus pandemic, domestic violence and abuse has increased across the country, and more women like Grace will rely on the support of charities like Hope for a safe space to stay.
Can you help Hope? You can help in many ways, volunteering, donations or organising your own event, however large or small. Your donations make sure they can provide a safe space for women like Grace who have nowhere to turn. Would you like to get involved? Email Melanie at melanie.rose@hopeservices.org.uk.
