Hope in Every Step

by | 7 July 2023 | Support Group, Worksop

Step into the Hope In Every Step campaign, designed to raise awareness about who Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS) are as a charity and who they support.

Launched on 3rd June but still open to new entrants, the charity’s supporters together hope to walk 100 million steps in 100 days. Whether you’re stepping in memory of someone, for awareness or for your own mental health, they would love for you to get involved.

There is a Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/131538489821488 where the group aims to keep everyone updated throughout the campaign, as well as giving people an opportunity to share the pictures of their stepping journey.

SoBS is delighted to have a group in Bassetlaw and their members will be taking part right up until the last day on 10th September – World Suicide Prevention Day. The Bassetlaw SoBS Group meets on the last Tuesday of month at 6.30pm in Retford, and is for everyone 18 and over who has ever been bereaved by suicide – friend, family or colleague. Email bassetlaw@sobsuk.org.

There are no set targets and no raising money, just awareness; anyone can get involved. To join this challenge, you need to download an app called YuMuuv. Once you have downloaded the app, follow the steps to register using unique code ‘SO-BS-100’.

Share your progress and pictures on social media using the hashtag #StepwithSoBS. Whether you walk 10 steps or 10,000 steps a day, please get involved and help to have Hope In Every Step.
