The current cost of living crisis is affecting us all and, sadly, we know it isn’t going away, with pressure on households only likely to increase as we enter the winter period.
Bassetlaw Citizens Advice is currently experiencing record-breaking demand for their services as people grapple with increasing costs, and as a result have established a new Cost of Living telephone helpline to support local people during these difficult times.
If you need help to see whether you are eligible for any additional financial support, such as welfare benefits, grants or schemes, they can assist you. Support is also available in dealing with energy or other debts.
Please leave your name and contact number on the Cost of Living helpline answer phone and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible. The helpline number is 01909 498888.
Additional cost of living resources can be found on the Citizens Advice website: www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/get-help-with-the-cost-of-living.
As well as helping people with the cost of living crisis, the local charity is keen to hear from the community about the issues they’re currently facing during this crisis, and are establishing a Citizen’s Panel of local residents whom they hope will provide their thoughts on the issues most affecting them. The results of this panel will be used to advocate for our community. If you would like to join the conversation and be a part of the Citizens Panel, please email lara.routh@bassetlawca.org.uk.
