Greenwood Riding for the Disabled has welcomed a new pony, Scarlet, to its farm in King’s Clipstone. Scarlet has been progressing well with training for RDA riders after being purchased through the generosity of a private donor, with support from the Thoresby Charitable Trust.
The charity has thanked supporters for their continued help and says it hopes to return to full strength soon. Following a recent recruitment drive for new volunteers, the organisation received more than 100 applications and expressed gratitude to everyone who showed interest. The charity also highlighted the contribution of young volunteers taking part through the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Young Equestrian Leadership programmes, alongside longer-term volunteers.
Greenwood Riding for the Disabled will hold its annual Summer Fair on Saturday 18th July from 12.00pm to 3.00pm at its King’s Clipstone site. Visitors are invited to meet the team and support fundraising efforts to help feed and care for the horses, while also contributing towards the purchase of another pony to replace those that have retired.
The charity has also launched a GoFundMe page for anyone wishing to help further.
