Get creative and boost your mental and emotional wellbeing

Nottinghamshire Mind offers Creative Ceramics as a form of clay therapy. Join their relaxed classes, unleash your creativity with clay therapy and feel the benefits of meeting like-minded people.

Through kneading and shaping clay, you can connect with the present moment and find peace of mind. Research shows that engaging in creative activities like pottery can have a positive impact on your mental and emotional wellbeing. You do not need to be artistic, it’s all about taking time for yourself and enjoying the process.

Take the opportunity to have a go, meet new people, make friends, and try something new. The sessions take place on the Welbeck estate and are facilitated by the Harley Foundation, who aim to bring fun and light-hearted learning in the art of pottery.

A Nottinghamshire Mind recovery coach will be on hand to support people through their journey – encouraging attendance and ever ready with a listening ear.

They offer a ten–week programme with a chance to try all the methods as seen on ‘The Pottery Throw Down’, including coiling, slab building, painting and glazing.

Fancy giving it a try? Then contact Nottinghamshire Mind as booking is essential. You can go alone to meet and make new friends or go with a friend or loved one for support.

Sessions are held Thursdays, with morning and afternoon sessions available at the small cost of £3.50 per week.
