Gardens galore open for charity in July

Wednesday 6th July, 10.30am – 3.30pm

Rhubarb Farm
Hardwick Street, Langwith NG20 9DR

Two acre horticultural social enterprise which provides training and volunteering opportunities to 90 local people. Eight polytunnels, livestock, flower borders, pond, and raised beds all feature in the garden. Opportunity to meet and chat to the volunteers. Wheelchair access, plants for sale, parking, refreshments, cashless payments available.

Saturday 16th July, 12.00pm – 4.00pm

The Old Vicarage
Halam Hill, Halam NG22 8AX

Much loved and admired garden which this year features new planting and design. Open views and relaxing seating throughout the garden and delicious homemade tea and cake. Wheelchair access, dog friendly, plants for sale, parking, refreshments, cashless payments available.

Sunday 17th July, 1.00pm – 5.00pm

Morton Nurseries

A young garden in open exposed site which began in 2013 by avid plant lovers Gill and Gayle. Flowing walkways through large informal mixed borders with some unusual plants. Sizeable colour co-ordinated herbaceous borders backed by yew and holly hedges. Large pond attracting lots of wildlife. Featured on Gardeners’ World and at Tatton Park Flower Show in 2018. Wheelchair access, dog friendly, plants for sale, refreshments, picnics welcome, cashless payments available.

Three acre garden noted for its extensive variety of trees, shrubs and perennials, many rare or unusual. Long colourful herbaceous borders, rose arches, alpine / scree garden, large wildlife pond and maturing area of woodland with acid loving plants. Spectacular views of the Minster across a wildflower meadow and ha-ha. Wheelchair access, dog friendly, plants for sale, refreshments.

A beautifully well-maintained country garden. Long sweeping borders surrounding the main lawn leading to wildflower meadows where you will find an interesting garden retreat. A horticulturist’s haven. Flower farm supplying British grown stems to florists and farm shops. Wheelchair access, dog friendly, plans for sale, parking, refreshments.

Sunday 31st July, 1.00pm – 4.00pm

5a High Street
Sutton on Trent NG23 6QA

Manicured lawns are the foil for this plantsman’s garden. Vistas lead past succulents to tropical areas and vibrant herbaceous beds. Ponds run through the plot, leading to woodland walks and a dedicated fernery with 180+ varieties including magnificent tree ferns. Topiary links all the planting with great effect. Featured on Gardeners’ World in October 2021. Parking, plants for sale, refreshments.

This major fundraising event, designed by the National Garden Scheme, invites you to host a Great British Garden Party.
