Author Event: Romance Panel
Worksop Library will host a panel of bestselling romance authors on Wednesday 3rd June at 7.00pm for an evening celebrating romance fiction and reading. The panel includes Jane Costello, internationally bestselling author of 16 novels, several published under the name Catherine Isaac; Beth Moran, the million-copy bestselling author of 15 novels, many set around Sherwood Forest; and Suzan Holder, wife of musician and presenter Noddy Holder, whose latest romantic comedy What Would Dolly Do? was inspired by research trips to Nashville and a lifelong admiration for Dolly Parton.
Tickets cost £3.00 and advance booking is strongly recommended as places are limited.
Jazz Steps Live: Sharp Little Bones feat. Tony Kofi
The latest Jazz Steps Live event takes place on Tuesday 9th June at 7.30pm and features virtuosic quartet Sharp Little Bones alongside multi-award-winning saxophonist Tony Kofi. The band combines jazz, funk, blues, bop and electronica to create a contemporary sound. Their debut double album, Volumes I & II, released in 2023 by Ubuntu Music, received critical acclaim and extensive airplay on BBC Radio and Jazz FM. Their recent UK tour sold out and concluded with a headline performance at the London Jazz Festival.
This is an adult event, with under-18s required to attend with an adult. Tickets are £14.00 and booking is highly recommended.
Heritage Talk: Emma Wilmot’s Sketches of the Dukeries
On Wednesday 17th June from 2.00pm to 3.00pm, Dr Richard Gaunt from the University of Nottingham will present a talk exploring the life and work of local artist Emma Wilmot.
The talk will focus on Emma Wilmot’s sketches of the Dukeries, including scenes of Worksop Manor and Clumber, created while she lived in Worksop during the 1840s as the wife of the Duke of Newcastle’s agent. Tickets for the heritage talk are £3.50 and booking is essential.
