At Christ Church, Thievesdale Close, in the north of Worksop, there will be lots of fun activities for all ages during their ‘Celebration Weekend’. On Friday 14th September, choose from a Pamper Evening or a Snooker Night, with pie and peas. Get up early on Saturday 15th September for a Canal Walk, with midway refreshments at St Luke’s Church in Shireoaks. Book for the Afternoon Tea at 2.30pm on Saturday. On Saturday evening, test your pedal-power to race cars around the Six-Lane Scalextric track powered by stationary bikes! There’s fish and chips on offer here too!
If you’re interested in these events, book your place when you’re next in church or email at christchurchworksop@btconnect.com.
Everyone, as always, is welcome to Christ Church’s Sunday services. There’s the traditional-style service at 9.00am, and at 11.00am there is a ‘Welcome to School’ service, for children who are starting the first year of their school life. Or why not come along to the 6.30pm service where you have a chance to challenge the vicar, Reverend Luiz Lima, with your Toughest Questions and shape the sermon for the 16th and throughout the month of September! Reverend Luiz wants you to get in touch ahead of time and write to him with a question that’s been on your mind. It might be about God, religion, death, love, pain, doubt, purpose, society…he’s sure you have ideas of your own. Fill in a form at church or email him at questions@christchurchworksop.org.uk . He’s looking forward to hearing from you.
Christ Church hopes you can join them for this fun weekend and looks forward to seeing you.
