Oasis Community Centre and Gardens are continuing to offer festivities and community events following the Jubilee year of celebrations, by bringing a huge Circus Tent back to the their site in Kilton, Worksop. It will house three weeks of events and celebrations for all ages and groups from 12th September until 3rd October.
Community groups, crafts people, food suppliers and children’s entertainers are all invited to take part in the celebrations and everyone is welcome to join in the fun and festivities.
Amongst the many events that the Bassetlaw community can enjoy are meal events (Communiteas on tour), Craft and Country Fair, Veterans and Forces Family Day, Community Fun Day, children’s celebrations and party evenings. There will be an invitation to the Queen’s Tea Party and other events to bring some much needed fun, laughter, community spirit and togetherness. Activities which will be mostly free.
People will also be able to see the Oasis Community Gardens which have been featured on BBC Gardener’s World, showcased on a film by the ‘UK Centre for Social Justice’ and have won the Britain in Bloom ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ award, the ‘Green Flag’ award for the last six years among other accolades.
Centre Manager and local church Pastor Steve Williams said: “In this time of trouble, difficulty and hardship for so many people we are so pleased to be able to offer some wonderful feelgood events with funding from various sponsors to bring our community together, to reduce the isolation people feel and to bring some happiness and joy to people’s lives. We love our community and the very special people of Bassetlaw and we want to support them in as many ways as we can.”
The events are open to everyone and they send the invitation out to all in Bassetlaw.
