Bassetlaw SoBS Group has been busy with International Day of Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide in November – a day which highlights the uniqueness of bereavement by suicide.
In December the group had Christmas trees at both Retford and Worksop Christmas tree festivals, where you could write your loved one’s name on a decoration and leave it on the tree.
The group continues to meet on the last Tuesday of the month, 6.30pm in Retford.
It’s a small, friendly group where everyone has been bereaved by suicide. There are members of all ages (18+ only); some members with very recent bereavements, and others from 20 years ago. It’s never too late to join.
Some members say it just makes them feel comforted by being with others who have been through the same thing.
