Tie a Yellow Ribbon
On Saturday 7th September, Bassetlaw Hospice invites families to ‘Tie a Yellow Ribbon’ in celebration of the lives of their loved ones. Yellow is the colour of hope and memory, and everyone is welcome to personalise their ribbon with a name or a special message.
The event will take place in the grounds of Barnby Moor Memorial Park and Crematorium from 11.00am to 2.00pm, where the Hospice has a seated pergola for families to tie their ribbons and spend a moment of quiet reflection if they wish. Alternatively, ribbons can be kept close to home, perhaps by tying them to a structure in their own garden.
Yellow ribbons are available from the Hospice’s charity shops in Retford and Worksop for a minimum donation of £2.00, and they will also be available on the day.
If you are unable to attend but would like a ribbon placed on the pergola, contact the Appeals Office on 01777 710444 or email debbie@bassetlawhospice.org.
Pyjama Walk
Bassetlaw Hospice fundraisers will be out on the streets of Retford in their pyjamas and onesies on Saturday 28th September, taking part in the Pyjama Walk. This fun family event will set off from the Support and Wellbeing Centre of the Hospice on North Road at 7.00pm.
Registration will open at 6.00pm, allowing walkers to collect their entry numbers and leave a memory of a loved one on the illuminated tree outside the Hospice building.
The accessible circular route is approximately 2.2 miles, with marshals stationed along the way to ensure everyone crosses the roads safely and follows the correct path. Keep a lookout for Bassetlaw Bear!
Once back at the Hospice, all participants will receive a Pyjama Walk medal, and complimentary hot drinks and biscuits will be served.
All entrants aged between five and 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Only assistance or guide dogs are allowed on the walk.
Entry forms are available now from the charity shops and Appeal Office. Entry is £6.00 for adults, £4.00 for children, and free for under-5s.
For more information and entry forms, please contact The Appeal Office at 01777 710444 or email debbie@bassetlawhospice.org.
