Did you know that Bassetlaw Food Bank has a base in Retford? This is where they store all non-food donations. These items are then listed on their eBay page, displayed on a stall at Friday’s market or used in the Upcycle Project. If you’re due a spring clear out have a think about donating your unwanted items to Bassetlaw Food Bank (either the Manton or Retford site) where they can be repurposed and sold on.
The Upcycle Project
This project was created to breathe new life into run down clothes and textiles and allow volunteers to get their creativity flowing in a social environment. There are plenty of materials and equipment so no need to bring your own. If you’re a novice or an expert, why not try it out and see where it takes you? You might just find out something new about yourself and your talents and help a local cause too!
Retford Market
On Fridays you can find the Bassetlaw Food Bank team at Retford market, weather-dependent of course. Getting out into the community is important to the charity and this is the perfect opportunity! Now that the weather is starting to turn for the better, you’ll see Bassetlaw Food Bank’s stall more frequently. Why not get yourself down to the market, have a chat with the team and maybe even pick yourself up something nice?
eBay shop
There’s a host of products listed online including clothes, beauty items and kitchenware. Prices start from as low as £1.00, so you’re sure to find a bargain for yourself or a loved one! If you’re interested in the full listing of items, you can find Bassetlaw Food Bank on eBay under the username ‘bfbretail’. Happy shopping!
The Retford retail shop is located at Unit E, Butter Market House, Retford, DN22 6BP and is open Monday to Thursday from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The Manton Food Hub is based at CSL Centre, Shrewsbury Road, Manton, Worksop S80 2TU and is open Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
