The meeting of the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK on Tuesday 5th April will welcome Doctor Fiona McKevett (consultant neurologist), who will talk about Parkinson’s disease and treatments. It is always a great pleasure to welcome Dr McKevett to Branch meetings and thanks are extended to her for finding the time to come along and update the Branch on the latest treatments.
Monday 11th April is World Parkinson’s Day, when the Branch hopes to raise awareness of the condition and demonstrate its firm belief that there is a full and active life to be enjoyed despite some of the difficulties the condition may present. The aim of the Branch is to ensure that nobody feels alone with Parkinson’s and it offers the hand of friendship and support to patients, family and friends.
The next meeting of the Lunch Club takes place on Tuesday 12th April at 12.00pm.
The Branch plans to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a festive coach outing to Brigg Garden Centre for a celebratory afternoon tea. The outing is kindly sponsored by the National Lottery.
