Aurora is a local cancer charity providing support in Bassetlaw for individuals living with cancer or a long-term health condition. Aurora also serves as a community hub, providing a range of heritage and wellbeing activities that promote self-care, reduce isolation, and help individuals reconnect with their community. It offers a safe and warm environment for everyone – whether seeking companionship, looking to meet new people, or taking up a new hobby.
How can Aurora help?
Aurora provides a personalised care and support plan for cancer patients and their loved ones in the Bassetlaw area. This free package of holistic support is available to anyone diagnosed with any type of cancer, at any stage of their journey.
Whether someone wishes to speak to a team member in the safe and confidential Wellbeing Centre in Worksop or find practical ways to manage their emotions, Aurora is ready to help. For those struggling emotionally due to cancer, self-referral is available via the website, or by calling or visiting in person to speak to the friendly team who can help make sense of their feelings.

February half-term activities in the Heritage Hub
This February half-term, dinosaurs and fossils come to Aurora’s centre with exciting workshops and activities. Perfect for young explorers, these hands-on sessions encourage kids to dig into the past and create their own fossils.
On Monday or Tuesday, participants can join the Fantastic Fossil workshop to create unique fossils using coffee clay. Wednesdays offer the Amazing Ammonite workshop, where children can craft their own ammonite mosaic, and on Thursdays or Fridays, budding palaeontologists can dig for dinosaurs!
Each workshop costs £3.50 or £9.00 for three workshops booked together. Additionally, free activities are available within the Heritage Hub. Book today to give your little palaeontologist a half-term to remember!
