Aurora is a cancer charity providing support in the local area for people living with cancer or a long-term health condition. But Aurora is not just a cancer charity; they have a variety of support groups, counselling services and recreational activities on offer for the public too as well as a charity shop and tearooms.
Spotlight on… Beauty Therapy at Aurora
With funding from the Reaching Communities Fund for the East Midlands, Aurora has been able to increase its beauty and holistic therapy service for people affected by cancer in Bassetlaw. They offer free treatments to cancer clients and their carers which helps to restore their confidence.
They are now able to offer the beauty and holistic treatments Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm, including additional holistic reflexology on Thursdays.

New exercise classes in The Curve
Due to the popularity of the current exercise programme at The Curve, Aurora has extended it to include additional classes and new classes which are appropriate for a range of ages and abilities. These classes are available to the general public as well as service users.
- Chair Based and Balance Class: additional class on Thursdays 11.00am to 11.50am
- Cancer Rehabilitation Class: additional class on Thursdays 12.00pm to 1.00pm
- Fit and Fun: additional class on Tuesdays 12.10pm to 1.00pm
- Barre Pilates: NEW! Thursdays 10.00am to 10.50am
- Open Gym: NEW! Thursdays 1.30pm to 2.30pm

Visit Valerie’s Tearooms for a talk by Baroness Bolsover about the etiquette of Afternoon Tea, followed by prosecco and a delicious Afternoon Tea. Feel free to come in your posh frock or fancy hat for the occasion!
