Summer has finally arrived and, if you are looking for something to do or a place of interest to visit, why not try the Aurora Wellbeing Centre and Heritage Hub?

Aurora is a cancer charity providing support in the local area for people living with cancer or a long-term health condition. They welcome the public to visit the centre to see what’s on offer. Why not visit their Heritage Hub in the heart of the Old Library Building and reminisce through oral and virtual history displays, objects from bygone days and share memories of Worksop and the surrounding area?

The newly-refurbished Valerie’s Tearooms are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm and offer a range of home-cooked meals, sandwiches and cakes at reasonable prices in wonderful art deco surroundings. There is also an al fresco decking area for you to sit and enjoy the wonderful Memorial Gardens. Why not indulge yourself with an Afternoon Tea? Available Monday to Friday between 1.00pm and 3.00pm (48 hours’ notice required).

As a cancer charity, Aurora offers a care package which includes six free beauty treatments and holistic therapies for cancer clients and two free treatments for their nominated carer (subject to conditions). To provide this service, the charity needs to raise much-needed funds. You can help by booking a treatment with one of their trained therapists in their newly refurbished treatment rooms.

A range of beauty treatments is available at very reasonable prices, as well as holistic therapies such as Reiki, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage (which uses natural healing energy to promote regenerative self-healing which encourages sleep, manages stress and anxiety). To book or to make further enquiries please ring Alli on 07827 231001 or 01909 470985.
Would you like to be part of the Aurora Wellbeing family? Volunteers are at the heart of what Aurora does and they would not be able to deliver these services without them. They have a range of fulfilling volunteer roles, new and old; contact them or pick up a form from reception.
