All new year for WLOS!

Did you make any New Year resolutions? Have you broken them yet?

The Worksop Light Operatic Society made two, and they’re still sticking to both!

Following their four sell-out performances of Fifty, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Society’s formation, the Society resolved to begin their 51st year with a new show to rehearse, working under the leadership of a new director.

Rehearsals began in January for the Society’s next production, which is to be Little Shop of Horrors. This delightfully dark classic show is set on Skid Row, New York City, where florist Seymour Krelborn finds a strange and unusual new breed of plant. The invasion strategy of this foul flora shapes the lives of him and the rest of the cast, changing their lives forever!

With great music, touching romance and dark comedy, altogether a new type of show that is not to be missed.

Directing this exciting show is the Society’s new director, Matt Roddis.

In a message to the Society, Matt said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining your talented group of performers as the director for our upcoming production of Little Shop of Horrors.

“The opportunity to work with such a passionate and dedicated group of individuals is very exciting, and I am eager to embark on this creative journey with each one of you. Together, we have the chance to bring Little Shop of Horrors to life on stage in a way that will captivate our audience and leave a lasting impression.”

Little Shop of Horrors will be staged at the Acorn Community Theatre, Queen Street, Worksop from 16th to 18th May, at 7.30pm each night and with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Please note the show has a PG13 rating.
