As spring approaches and we all begin to feel slightly more enthusiastic about venturing into the great outdoors, the North Notts Local Group of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s March talk will surely inspire us to investigate Rutland Water. Tim Sexton, Species and Recording Officer at Rutland, will talk about his experiences there throughout the year’s changing seasons.
You may already know Tim. He was a familiar face in the Idle Valley Centre as he worked there for Notts Wildlife Trust before his move to Rutland Water. He clearly enjoys his new role working at this beautiful reserve, and is keen to share his enjoyment and experiences of it.
He said: “Rutland Water is perhaps best known for its bird life. With over 20,000 waterfowl visiting the site in the winter it is an internationally important wetland. Coupled with the success of the Osprey and Water Vole reintroduction projects, the reserve has gone from strength to strength in the last 45 years. I will cover a year at Rutland Water, and show you that there is more to Rutland than just birds.”
This meeting will be held on Thursday 9th March at Idle Valley Centre, starting at 7.15pm. £3.00 entry includes tea and biscuits. All welcome; no need to book.
