Limestone House Community and Visitor Centre, Creswell

Opening is limited due to the Government Coronavirus Lockdown.  Their current activities have been organised to help those in need in this period. Their usual activities are suspended.

The ‘Limestone House Foodbank’ opened on Easter Tuesday from 10.00am to 2.00pm and will continue to open this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. From the following week the Foodbank will continue to open on Monday to Friday as a continuous service. This Foodbank has been set up thanks to funding from ‘Foundation  Derbyshire’ and  serves Creswell, Whitwell, Bakestone Moor and Hodthorpe.

Although the usual Limestone House work for the community is currently suspended, on Mondays and Fridays staff are cooking lunches, which are not free,  and a dinner and dessert are delivered to vulnerable people  isolated due to physical or mental illness, age or the Coronavirus isolation in the villages above. To book a cooked lunch phone 01909 724061 between 10.00am and 2.00pm.

Tesco Clowne, through the Fareshare scheme, donate to Limestone House their surplus food and the Co-op at Creswell and Whitwell also give their surplus food. This food is given away in Limestone House and will now be included with the food given in the foodbank service.
