7 Project celebrates fifth birthday

by | 16 January 2018 | Local Charity, Worksop

On Tuesday 16th January 7 Project will be celebrating its fifth birthday. You are invited to a birthday lunch from 12.00pm to 2.00pm to celebrate what god has done for men and women in and around Worksop.
This takes place at Gospel Hall, 14 Church Walk, Worksop S80 2EJ. RSVP by no later than 8th January to Shaun Cummings (7 Project Leader) on 07923 109652.

Sleep Out
A ‘One Night Sleep Out’ is planned at local charity 7 Project, to raise monies to help men and women who sleep out in all weathers night after night in Worksop.
Volunteers from 7 Project will be sleeping out in the front car park area of the Gospel Hall, Church Walk, Worksop from 11.00pm on Friday 26th January 2018, to 7.00am on Saturday 27th January 2018, to help raise the profile of this ever increasing problem which is becoming a major issue in Worksop.
If you are interested in joining them or would like to sponsor them, please contact Shaun Cummings (7 Project Leader) on 07923 109652 or alternatively email at support@7project.co.uk.

Film Showing
You are invited to a 7 Project film premiere of ‘God’s Not Dead’ on Saturday 20th January, from 7.00pm.
Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper), an evangelical college student, enrolls in a philosophy class taught by Professor Jeffrey Radisson (Kevin Sorbo), an atheist, who demands his students sign a declaration that “God is dead” to pass. Josh is the only student who refuses to sign. Free popcorn and pop will be available.

The project was founded in December 2012, to provide a ‘safe place’ to assist the people in Worksop and surrounding areas who find themselves in extremely difficult situations and are marginalised through drug and alcohol addiction, debt, homelessness and mental health, etc. At the ‘7 Project’ volunteers intend to provide a warm welcome to all who visit.

The 7 Project is open weekly on a Tuesday, from 10.00am to 2.00pm, but with more resources, it will open more frequently to meet the increasing number of clients and their needs. They provide breakfast and lunch to these people who ordinarily would not get a square meal.

On Sundays volunteers hold a Weekly Fellowship and Food, from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Please support them with this fundraising event to raise awareness and help reduce the numbers of men and women sleeping out on the streets in our town of Worksop.
