Rotherham Life reader Kelly Lamb is appealing for people to support her in her voluntary week to collect Christmas gifts for a women’s refuge in South Yorkshire.
She is collecting Christmas gifts for adults and brand new toys for children, ladies gift sets and socks, underwear, pyjamas, boxes of biscuits, toiletries, tea and coffee etc – anything to help make it easier for them to settle in while at the refuge. New families go to the refuge on a daily basis and they try to rehome and set them up with a new beginning within a few weeks. Then they help the families settle into the new communities. The families have mostly left everything behind at their former homes and cannot go back to get anything for many reasons.
This year is especially hard with the impact of COVID-19 and they are asking for new wrapped items only, especially for children over five years old. Kelly will be doing local collections and she will sit outside the shops in Woodlaithes in her car on Sundayn5th December from 10.00am to 1.00pm to act as a collection point. If you would like to drop off to her or arrange collection at a different time please email her at kelly.lamb@hotmail.co.uk. All help is appreciated and Kelly will then pass on all donations to the refuge.
