Winthrop Gardens has been unable to re-open due to the COVID-19 emergency, but volunteers are determined to deliver Festive Afternoon Teas to ensure customers, friends and supporters of Winthrop don’t miss out on the Christmas cheer!

Councillor Sue Ellis, Chair of the Wickersley Parish Council, said: “Winthrop has many regular customers, friends and supporters who have enjoyed our Festive Afternoon Teas over many years and I’m relieved that with the help and support of our café volunteer team we won’t have to let them down this year!

“I’m pleased to announce that on every Tuesday and Thursday between 17th November and 17th December our Winthrop volunteers will be serving Festive Afternoon Teas at the Wickersley Community Centre. We’ve spent a lot of time planning and preparing to make sure this can be done in a COVID-19 safe and secure way for both our customers and volunteers. It’s a great opportunity for our wonderful Winthrop community to come together as we look forward to Christmas after the strangest and most challenging year most of us will experience.”

Festive Afternoon Teas must be pre-booked and paid for in full in advance to confirm the booking. Guests will be seated at pre-allocated tables and prior to booking they will send all enquirers their ‘Event Information Sheet’ which outlines all the arrangements, in particular the measures they have taken to mitigate the risk of COVID-19.
The cost is £15.00 per person. For more information call Anna Chester on 07397 039226 or email
