At its next meeting, Voglia d’Italia (the Italian Society for South Yorks and North Notts) presents ‘Reconnecting Rome to the Sea: Architecture, Space and Planning in inter-war Italy’. David Atkinson, Professor of Cultural and Historical Geography, University of Hull, talks about the Pontine Marches, the EUR quarter and the wider project to reconnect Rome with the Mediterranean and the Roman Empire through contemporary architecture and new planning.
Talks are in English and there is an optional Italian conversation group afterwards.
