They are currently building a network of Trojan Wellbeing Welfare Officers around the UK. Having experienced the transition from a policing career into civvy street, Gareth knows only too well the impact it has on your health. Trojan Wellbeing are keen to work with charities in helping to combat loneliness, which is a major contributing factor to poor mental health.
In addition to providing support for their retired colleagues and family members, the organisation is also looking at ways to reduce the effects of the cost of living crisis being experienced by their community. Welfare Officers not only provide access to the peer support and professional services available, they can offer financial support to reduce household bills.
By providing support to the ‘Service Family’ community, they are proud to be reducing loneliness and anxiety and therefore improving quality of life for a large number.
