Three of Rotherham’s green spaces have this week been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as being one of the very best in the UK. Clifton, Greasbrough and Ulley parks are amongst a record-breaking 2,000 UK parks and green spaces that today received a prestigious Green Flag Award – the mark of a quality park or green space.
This international award, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
Clifton Park, which has been awarded the Green Flag for the 10th year in a row, has also achieved the much-coveted Green Heritage Site Accreditation for its management of the historic features for the third year running.
Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member Cleaner, Greener Communities, Councillor Sarah Allen, said: “We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining our parks to such a high standard.”
