Tickhill Parish Room

Snow coming down – daffodils coming up. There is a smell of spring in the air, making us all feel as if it’s just around the corner.

This is a good time of year to start thinking about new hobbies and pastimes, and Tickhill Parish Room is an excellent place to start. Maybe broaden your horizons with a visit to the Francophiles group or the Italian group, both of which welcome new members and visitors. You could learn to play the ukulele, or brush up on your crafting skills. They have a yoga class for relaxation and the WI meets at the Parish Room once a month. As well as ACCORD, a group for anxiety related problems, where there is always someone to chat to.

Perhaps you might be thinking of starting up your own group – this is the place to be. The building is central and modern with full use of a well-equipped kitchen, and wheelchair friendly with a lift.

The Parish Room is also well used for coffee mornings, quizzes, fundraising events and their own Saturday Coffee Morning (10.00am to 12.00pm), where you might be offered anything from a hot crossed bun to a toasted teacake, a crumpet or a scone. This is a very social occasion with plenty of chat going on around the snacks!!

If you are interested in any of the above – or anything else organised in the Parish Room, ring Janice on 07590 455340 for details. The number’s the same if you want to talk about your own booking / event. If you have an hour or so to spare some Saturdays, and feel you could help in the kitchen, ring Noreen on 01302 743293 for further information.
