St Francis’ Church Mother’s Union recently held a Strawberry Tea in aid of AFIA (Away from it All), which provides holidays for families in need.
Two representatives from Samaritan’s Purse, Liz and Charlotte, spoke about the charity’s essential work, especially to the children of Ukraine and particularly through the distribution of filled shoeboxes. Scones with jam, cream and strawberries were served to over 50 people who added their support by way of a raffle and a silent auction. A total of £405 was raised. Thank you to everyone who supported this event.
The church is holding a tabletop sale at its Autumn Fayre on Saturday 8th October from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Tables are available at £15.00 and bookings can be made by contacting the church office on 01709 702576 or Bramley.stfrancis@gmail.com.
If you have crafts, plants, toys, household goods or anything you would like to sell don’t miss this opportunity. Tabletop holders will have access from 1.00pm on the day to set up. All profits in aid of church funds.
On Sunday 4th September, Reverend Helen Terry will be commissioned as Curate in Charge at the Sunday morning Service by Right Reverend Dr Pete Wilcox, Bishop of Sheffield. The service will be at 11.00am and will be followed by a Bring and Share lunch. Everyone is welcome.
