A fun-filled Scalextric Challenge will take place on Saturday 21st February at Wickersley Methodist Church, raising money for Forget Me Not Memory Café, Dementia Appeal Rotherham Hospital and 24th Rotherham Scouts. The event runs from 9.00am to 9.30pm and offers plenty of opportunities to get involved, whether you are racing as part of a team or having a go just for fun.
Teams can enter with a minimum of two drivers per team. Races last for 30 minutes or one hour, with drivers changing every 20 laps while lap times are recorded. Refreshments will be served throughout the day. Visitors are also invited to try their luck at setting the fastest lap time on track two, costing £1.00 per ten laps, or to test their skills in the Formula One champion driver challenge at £1.00 per go. Those with their own Scalextric cars are welcome to bring them along and try to set the fastest time of the day.
Food and drink will be available, including bacon sandwiches, soup and rolls, hot dogs, pizza, and a range of hot and cold drinks. A Women’s Institute coffee morning will also take place from 10.00am to 12.30pm.
