Wine tasting evening
Instead of their normal Rotary meeting on 10th July, Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club members and guests enjoyed a wine tasting at Sitwell Park Golf Club. They tasted six wines, three white and three red. Needless to say, the spittoon didn’t get any use and by the end of the evening the atmosphere was very convivial. They learned about the winemaking process, including, among other things, primary and secondary fermentation, malolactic fermentation and carbonic maceration. After the wine tasting, they enjoyed a very nice buffet put on by the Golf Club.
All aboard
On Thursday 17th July, the Rotarians enjoyed a boat trip hosted by Swinton Lock Activity Centre. Club members and guests enjoyed a cruise along the canal followed by refreshments in the Gorilla Brewery Beer Hall. Thanks go to Tom Knight, Dave Taylor and other members of Swinton Lock Activity Centre for their hospitality.
Attendance Presentation Assembly at Flanderwell Primary School
President Martin Davis together with Rotarian Phil Crutchley and his wife Dot recently visited Flanderwell Primary School in support of the Club’s sponsorship of their Attendance Celebrations. They were hosted by Karen Sheriff, the School’s Pastoral Manager. They received a letter signed by the pupils thanking the Club for their sponsorship.
