Rotherham Pride 2018

by | 6 July 2018 | Community Event, Community Focus, Rotherham

Rotherham Pride will be hosting the sixth annual LGBT+ Pride event on Saturday 14th July at Clifton Park Band, from 12.00pm to 6.00pm. It is a free, family friendly, community event and has been organised by a dedicated team of volunteers.

This year is Rotherham Pride’s first ever parade starting from the Heart of Steel at 10.30am. The organisers invite the LGBT+ community and their allies, to join us in the parade or support us by coming along to spectate. The parade route and applications for organisations are available via www.rotherhampride.co.uk.

Each year Rotherham Pride provides a stage filled with amazing local talent. This year there is a real variety and something for everyone with Rotherham African Drummers, Old Silkstone Brass Band, Rachael Webster, Out Aloud, Allistair Flood, Smashby, Stevie Moore, The Voice’s Lucy Milburn, Sarah Sax Player, RotherHop and Storm Trees. The event will be hosted by the event team’s very own Nic Harding and drag queen Cherry Ryder, so be sure to get your sweatbands ready for energetic opportunities to dance and get involved.

This year the plan is to provide a more fun-filled and inclusive event based on your feedback and so the team is excited to announce the following new features for Pride 2018:

  • Parade (meet at the Heart of Steel at 10.30am, last entry 10.50am)
  • Young people’s area
  • Volunteer opportunities for Young People
  • Family and children area
