Rotherham author Neil Fulcher’s first book is causing quite a stir in the religious fraternity

Phenomenon – The Greatest Adventure Ever Experienced: Before Conception and Beyond is a philosophical / religious novel that pulls no punches in trying to find answers to that age old question: is God a real conscious being? If He is, then it must be provable by the fact that we can visit him spiritually if not physically. If God is not a real living being that can be communicated with and visited, then it is the longest running fraud in history and we have all been hustled.

“This book is not everyone’s cup of tea, as we say in Yorkshire,” Neil said. “I did sup plenty of Yorkshire tea though in Wickersley Library for nearly a year as I wrote page after page of the greatest adventure ever experienced during lockdown.

“After being an avid reader of the Life Rotherham magazine for many years I now find myself in the privileged position to thank all the people of Rotherham where I was born and have lived all my life, for shaping me into the person I have inspired to become. I hope my story will inspire young people not to give up on their dreams but to push every available boundary to achieve them.”

The novel is set in Rotherham at the magnificent Wentworth Woodhouse and tells a story we all experience in our lives – fictionally in our hopes and fears, and factually as we try to bring meaning, adventure and reality into our lives. It encourages the reader to explore their existence beyond their physical life and enter a spiritual landscape. Part of the book’s aim is to promote Rotherham too.

“Yes, it has some plain talking about political and religious life in Rotherham,” Neil added. “Most people know as Rothertonians we are so much more than our politicians and clergy. It is the everyday people that live in Rotherham that give us our grit, our tenacity, our fortitude and our belly laughs. It is the people and their lives in Rotherham that make Rotherham such an amazing place to adventure life in.”

The book has been published by Austin Macauley Publishers Ltd and is available in hardback, paperback and ebook via Amazon UK, as well as being available in all good book shops.
