Rossington Hall RDA (Riding for the Disabled) enables children and adults with physical, sensory and learning difficulties of all ages and levels of ability to enjoy riding and horse-oriented activities.
This small and friendly group based near Bawtry is looking for volunteer helpers to support its qualified coaches.
Experience around horses would be great but it isn’t essential as training will be given. Duties include catching up horses, grooming, tacking up, leading and side walking in riding sessions. Hours can be flexible, but they do ask for a regular commitment as sessions rely on volunteers to run. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.
The group operates days Monday to Friday and evenings Monday to Thursday, although this may vary during school holidays. There is also a qualified physiotherapist running Hippotherapy sessions on Saturdays.
At the moment, the group especially needs volunteers for evening sessions (3.00pm to 7.00pm) and Hippotherapy on Saturdays.
There are also non-horsey duties such as field management, help at events, tea making and cleaning if you would like to join but are not comfortable working directly with the horses.
If you can spare a few hours a week they would love to hear from you – please email info@rdarossington.co.uk.
