Public to get their voices heard on climate change ahead of pivotal South Yorkshire election

Come together with people in your local area on Thursday 21st April from 6.00pm to 7.30pm for a climate hustings event hosted by Hope for the Future and Green Alliance #MyVoiceCountsSY. The event is open to all and free, but attendees need to reserve a place in advance on Eventbrite.

In the run up to polling day in the Metro Mayoral elections this May, constituents from across the region have the opportunity to question their candidates on how they plan to prioritise climate action and the environment if elected.

This event will be held in Sheffield city centre and live streamed to audiences across the South Yorkshire region.

The next Metro Mayor will have legitimate powers to make change. This hustings is a unique opportunity to meet candidates and ask questions about our future, particularly those that matter the most for the region such as sustainable transport, green jobs and energy and climate impacts such as flooding.

“This is a unique and vital opportunity for everyone in the region to ask the candidates how they plan to prioritise climate change if elected as Metro Mayor. We are proud to be facilitating this forum for everyone to be able to get their voices heard on climate change,” said Sarah Jordan, Director of Hope for the Future and chair of the upcoming event.
