The Village Committee in the small village of Brampton en le Morthen have created a new website for all residents, www.bramptoenlemorthen.co.uk. It is hoped this will help communication, will keep residents informed and will give details about what the committee is trying to achieve. The committee was re-formed in 2015 and since then, the 12 trustees have created an Action Plan with the aim to ‘Create a cohesive community which supports the care and wellbeing of all residents and provides a clean, safe and attractive environment’.
Activities and projects organised by the committee include litter picks, playground improvements, Christmas lights and social events. Funding bids have been successful for playground equipment and a new village sign. Trustees continually monitor and report fly tipping, traffic speeding and crime in the village. A new Neighbourhood Watch has been established.
The trustees now hope to enlist members or ‘Friends of Brampton’ from the village who will have a say in how the committee is run and get involved more closely in social events and projects.
Future projects include placing a defibrillator, adopting the phone box, traffic calming measures, protecting the Rising Deer pub, monitoring fly tipping and fundraising events. Look out for news of the first Village Fête on Saturday 21st July from 1.00pm to 4.00pm in the village playground.
If you want to support the village or want to know more, take a look at the website or contact the committee at email@example.com.
