Maltby Miners’ Welfare Band has been very fortunate to receive funding for new music folders and stands. Both folders and stands are a really important part of their equipment and are in use at least three times a week, every week, but are not always within their budget so the funding of new ones is much appreciated.
A big thank you to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Councillors Tinsley, Stables and Ball for funding the folders, replacing a set which were over 30 years old and literally falling apart. Thanks also to Maltby Town Council who funded the new music stands. Again, the old ones were way past their sell by date and often quite a challenge to use! The band will be playing in Maltby at St Barts Church, together with the training band, on Saturday 20th June at 2.00pm.
The training band will also be playing at the Maltby Community Festival on Saturday 6th June on Manor Fields.
