Maltby Miners’ Welfare Band kicked off a very busy spring season, returning to the CAMRA Real Ale Festival at Magna on Saturday 25th April.
The first of this year’s free concerts at the Wesley Centre will take place on Sunday 10th May at 3.00pm, where the band will be joined by its ever-growing Training Band.
On Saturday 23rd May, the band will be at the Bold as Brass Contest, held once again at the Wakefield Mining Museum. This is always a great day out for all the family and well worth a visit.
Finally, on Friday 29th May, the band will be competing at the famous Whit Marches in the Saddleworth and Oldham area. The band plans to play at a minimum of six villages over the evening, returning late to Maltby with lots of great memories and tired legs.
More details of all these events can be found on the band’s Facebook page.
