Members from both Maltby Miners’ Welfare Band and Maltby Miners’ Welfare Training Band went back to school in July! They had a great time entertaining pupils and their families at primary schools in Maltby. Manor Academy, Redwood Academy and St Catherine’s, kindly invited the musicians to play at their family events and also to demonstrate the Bands’ new Pbuzz instruments, which introduce young people to the techniques of playing a brass instrument.
They had lots of interest and look forward to working with the schools after their summer break. Both bands were in action on Saturday 26th July at the Maltby Summer Fair on Manor Field, and are now taking a break from rehearsals during the first two weeks in August but you can follow them on Facebook: Maltby Miners’ Welfare Band and Maltby Miners’ Welfare Training Band.
