Line dance opportunities

January is an excellent starting point for changes in routines and New Year’s Resolutions that may include making or renewing friendships and starting new exercise regimes to begin a new year on a new note. Line dancing is just one option that may achieve some of your goals for exercise and making new friends.

Boots and Bolos Dave Birkinshaw, has been teaching line dancing for over 20 years. Line dancing has made a comeback recently and new and old classes are proving ever more popular!

Following his recent retirement Dave has started a new line dancing class for beginners on Thursdays (from 1.30pm to 3.30pm) at the Edward Dunn Memorial Hall, Tickhill Road, Maltby S66 7NQ. The new class is being very well supported but there is still room for any potential new line dancers to join in, or dancers who have not been dancing for some time and wish to make a comeback!

One of the main benefits of line dancing is that you can come without a partner, so anyone can join in without feeling awkward or uncomfortable being on their own.

In addition to the new Thursday afternoon class, Dave also has existing classes in Carlton Civic Centre (Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm) for advanced/intermediate dancers and at Oldcotes Village Hall (Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm) for intermediate dancers. All classes are £3.50.

In addition, Dave hosts a monthly line dance social evening on the first Saturday of the month at Oldcotes Village Hall from 7.30pm to 11.00pm with everyone welcome. There is no need to book, just turn up and pay on the door — £5.00.
Call Dave on 07808 931534 with any queries or just come along and, as Len would say, “Keep on Dancing”!
