Light Up a Life is a time to remember the special people in your life who are no longer with us this festive season. Rotherham Hospice invites you to dedicate a Star of Remembrance to your loved one(s) in exchange for a donation to help fund vital end-of-life care for Rotherham families.
Stars of Remembrance
Light Up a Life Stars of Remembrance are a lovely way to remember your loved one during the festive season.
Make a donation to Rotherham Hospice, and you will receive two Stars of Remembrance. Each Star has a space on the back to write your dedication to your loved one. Keep one star for your own tree and send one back for the Christmas tree in the Hospice.
Services of Remembrance
The Light Up a Life 2022 Services of Remembrance are open to anyone who wishes to remember somebody, not just those whose loved one was cared for by the Hospice.
There will be three services, on the 8th and 10th December at Rotherham Hospice and 11th December at Rotherham Minster. These services are an opportunity to come together and reflect on memories of loved ones through music, readings and lighting of candles.
If you wish to attend a Service of Remembrance, please confirm which date and how many people. You can call Rotherham Hospice on 01709 308919 or email fundraising@rotherhamhospice.org.uk.

Shop news
In other news, the Timeless Emporium recently opened in the Tanyard at Wickersley. It replaces Rotherham Hospice’s previous Wickersley shop, and was opened by Hospice Ambassador John Breckin, and Emmerdale Star Dean Andrews.
In 2022, the Rotherham Hospice Wickersley shop celebrated its 12-year anniversary, and so too did Pauline Bagley. Pauline has been volunteering in the Wickersley shop since it opened, giving her valuable time to a good cause for all those years.
Six years ago, Pauline’s husband was cared for by the Hospice, making the cause she works so tirelessly for mean that much more. “I can’t praise them enough for what they did for my husband, the caring was second to none. Not just for my husband, but for my family afterwards as well.”
A massive thank you to Pauline for all your hard work over the years and congratulations on such an incredible milestone.
Christmas lights
Darren and Natalie Limb will be doing their amazing Christmas Lights display in Maltby, in aid of Rotherham Hospice.
Last year they raised over £4,000 for Rotherham Hospice, helping the Hospice support our local community. This year’s display will be bigger and better than ever, bringing some Christmas cheer and wonder to children and grown-ups alike!
See them at 68 Grange Lane, Maltby S66 7DN and make a donate at www.justgiving.com/Darren-Limb2. Some dates for the diary:
