Harvest Lunches fundraising

by | 15 September 2018 | Community Event, Rotherham

Come along and enjoy the Harvest Lunches for Christian Aid, with an unexpected bonus of matched funding from the European Union — times four! This means that every £1.00 you give will be worth £5.00 for life-changing work in Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Honduras and Malawi!

The first lunch will be on Friday 21st September, from 12.00pm to 1.00pm, in the Methodist Church Hall, Bawtry Road, Wickersley. There will be sausage and bacon baps on offer for their usual church fundraising, with fruit salad and a cake stall to raise funds for Christian Aid, in addition to other charity stalls also. Thursday 4th October, will follow, again from 12.00pm to 1.00pm, in St Alban’s. They will serve soups, rolls and fruit in the Barn, at the bottom of Church Lane, off the Morthern Road, Wickersley S66 1ES.

Christian Aid is working with women like Aster in Ethiopia, who came together with women in her village to set up their own shop, powered by the sun. In her own words: ‘Coming together as a women’s group, it’s like adopting sisters. We share happiness and sorrow together. They share my burden and help me face my challenges.’ Please bring your friends and help to raise essential funding.
