An enthusiastic audience greeted Friends in Harmony Choir in St James Church, Clifton as they gave their first concert since Covid restrictions were lifted.

Under the direction of Musical Director Graham Cowley and accompanist Catherine Sarjeant, the choir sang a varied selection of music to suit all tastes. Songs from ‘West Side Story’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Aspects of Love’ were all featured, and the classic retro hit ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo’ contrasted with ‘The Rose’ and ‘I am a Small Part of the World’. The evening ended with ‘Anthem’ from the musical ‘Chess’ and the ABBA classic ‘Thank You for the Music’.

The programme was enhanced by the songs of four choir soloists. The concert raised over £650 for the work of the church in Clifton area.
