Feed a homeless pet this Christmas

Local charity Rain Rescue has launched its Christmas Dinner Appeal and is asking local residents to support their vital work at this time of year.

ALBERT THE ANCIENT, alone at Christmas
It was a cold November morning when Rain Rescue received a call from the dog warden asking if they could help an old stray in need. Albert had been found wandering the streets. He was cold, scared and alone. When he arrived at the charity, they say you could see the worry in his little grey face. Albert was almost completely blind and deaf, yet he had the waggiest tail for every person he met. One thing that hadn’t let him down was his sense of smell, he knew when treats were nearby!

Albert spent Christmas at Rain Rescue, he was given a delicious dinner to enjoy on Christmas Day, he was warm and cosy until a fabulous new home came along in early January, in fact Albert was the first dog adopted in 2018. His new family said: “Albert has provided us all with laughs and love. Thank you to all at Rain Rescue for making our match made in heaven possible.”

More dogs just like Albert, will face Christmas alone this year. Your donation will mean the charity can say yes to help another in need.

WONDERFUL WILLOW, bereaved cat in need
When Rain Rescue were asked to help a cat in desperate need who had nowhere else to go, they couldn’t say no. Willow’s owner had passed away suddenly leaving her with no one to care for her and a very uncertain future.
Willow was a total darling with the biggest meow for every human she met. Older cats are often overlooked for their younger counter parts and so the charity was worried that she might be with them a while but they were contacted by a lovely lady who had just lost her old cat and was looking for a companion. Willow is now loved and cherished once more.

Thanks to you, Rain Rescue can be there to support pets and their owners in times of crisis. Just £3.00 will buy a special Christmas Dinner for a homeless pet in need and ensure Rain Rescue can help even more cats like Willow and dogs like Albert this Christmas find their forever home.
