Local qualified motorcycle riders can take a five hour Enhanced Rider Scheme training course at a fixed price thanks to a discount provided by Derbyshire County Council’s Road Safety Team.
The Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS), was created by the DVSA as extra training for full ‘A’ motorcycle licence holders and is delivered by motorcycle instructors who have qualified as a post-test instructor.
The scheme is suitable if you fit any of these:

  • are returning to riding
  • want to be a better, smoother, safer rider
  • have just passed your test
  • are upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle

The way the discount works depends on whether you decide to do the training alone or share your training with another rider. If you choose to train with a fellow rider, it will cost you a maximum of £39.00 each, or if you prefer a one-to-one experience a maximum of £59.00.
All discounted ERS courses are subject to availability of funding and may not always be available. To take advantage of the training please apply via www.saferroadsderbyshire.org.uk/motorcyclists/enhanced-rider-scheme/enhanced-rider-scheme.aspx.
Our local instructor who delivers the subsidised training is based at East Markham NG22 0RF, call 01777 818013 or 07939 041606.
