Empowering Men Initiative

Empowering Men Initiative (EMI) was born from pain, lived experience and the desperate need for change. Every day, men suffer in silence, ashamed, unheard and often disbelieved. At EMI, they’re here to say, you are not alone!

They are a not-for-profit organisation that supports male victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Whether it’s emotional, physical, financial or coercive control, abuse doesn’t discriminate and neither do we. They know how isolating it can feel and they’re here to walk beside those who’ve lost their voice, their confidence and sometimes even their children or beloved pets, just to survive.

Their work includes a peer support group, 1-to-1 mentoring, community outreach and awareness campaigns. All shaped by real stories and real people. They also work hard to challenge stigma and open people’s eyes to the reality that men can be victims too. One third of all domestic abuse victims are infact male.

What they offer is more than just support: it’s hope, healing and a sense of belonging. Because healing starts with being believed. If you’re struggling, or know someone who is, please reach out. They see you. They believe you. And they’re here. Contact them by emailing info@emicic.org.
